Lightbulb Induce crash?

Okay, the other day, I was playing and for some reason the game crashed. Well, I restarted it, and - lo and behold - I was exactly where I left when it crashed. Even resumed the battle me and my hench were in!

Now, is there some way I can induce that effect, you know, make it happen? :-D

I have five kids, and I have to sneak GW time as it is - this would help me BIGTIME. To not have to restart a 45-minute long quest - Hell yeah!

If you dc there's a certain amount of time they give you to reconnect, if the dc was due to network problems. I think the time limit is about ten minutes.

After that you go back just like you had logged out.

So even if you can reproduce it (which you may be able to by unplugging your pc from the wall), you only have a ten minute window in which to get back to where you were.

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth then.

Ahh, I guess I will have to run those quests again... *sigh*

Thank GOD this game is so FUN though, yeah!?!?

Unplugging your PC from the wall could seriously damage your system btw. I would not recommend it.

But as Katsumi said, if you dc, you have 10 minutes to reconnect, I believe.

ctrl+alt+delete works fine
or used to anyways

i have no reason to do it
but i tested it out when the reconnect system first came in
and it used to work
but maybe they fixed it

and doing a hard reset on ur pc will also work
(pressing the reset button on ur machine, not start menu->shutdown->restart)

Uh...not the entire PC...just the network cable. Sorry I thought that was implied.

First: you can achieve the effect by simply closing Guild wars without logging out (ALT F4).

Second: the game doesn't stop for you. It continues on - as many many dead survivor attempts can attest.

when my screen freezes and im in the middle of somthing, all i do is turn the internet router off, wait about 1 min then restart my pc and i can re-connect, you could just do this and instead of re-booting just close the GW client.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete
the 2nd tab
choose GW.exe
end it

since, it wasn't shut down properly by clicking on the red X on the corner, Guild wars client sees this as an error(such as when you switch off your pc).
when you next time you log on, if will as you if you want to reconnect to the place you left off

Instead of doing that, why don't you just park your guy somewhere safe until you can get back to the game?

Is this so you do not get the dishonorable hex from your teammates for leaving an undesirable group in RA?

Anyway I have kids too, and OH yes they are the best Disrupting players in GW. Anyway not much is a timed based quest or mission. It is ok to park a hench with flags. And then go do your business.

[Mantra of Resolve] Painbringer?
alt+f4 does not induce a crash...
its jus a shortcut to close the program
i.e. gw knows its being closed

ctrl+alt+del is teh only way
(other than d/c the internet, hard reset, etc)
